How to choose
- Packed size and weight matter more than comfort features. Read the packed dimensions on the listing and compare them to your bag.
- Sleeping bag: pick the rating for the coldest night you expect; desert nights are cold.
- Pad: an insulated pad matters as much as the bag.
- Water: plan water for the dry country you are in; a filter helps only where there is a reliable source.
- Coolers are heavy; check them against your rack rating.
